David catered a crawfish boil and also smoked pork ribs and chicken. Everything was delicious and our event went off without a hitch. David was extremely helpful in coordinating the menu and was quick to respond to emails, texts, and calls. He provided disposable plates and tables and really made the day as easy and enjoyable as possible. Delivery was on time and David was courteous and professional throughout the whole experience. Thanks for a great crawfish boil! We highly recommend David and Austin Barbecue Company!

David absolutely knocked it out of the park for my going away party. He roasted a hog for close to 18 hours and several of my guests commented it was the best BBQ they'd ever had. The sides were excellent as well. His communication was thorough and professional and he was on time and great to have around.

David did a pig roast at a friend's going-away party, and it was unreal! I haven't stopped talking about it since I had it a few days ago. The sides were also absolutely incredible. Amazing idea for a party!

I was at a party that David catered and his pig roast was AMAZING - I was blown away. He came completely prepared with everything, the pig, yummy sides, and some really nice appetizers as well. I would suggest him 1M times over for any party! He was also very kind and funny. It was a ton of fun.

Amazing roasted pig. So tender he didn't even need a knife to cut it up. Definitely recommend.

Menu: Beef and Chicken Fajitas, Mexican Rice and Beans with all the trimmings. David did a hands down great job with our last minute event. He worked within our budget and provided exceptional food and service. I was able to receive feedback from our attendees and everyone express that they enjoyed their meal.

I have been to several events catered by D.T. at Austin Barbecue Company and all I can say is his brisket & ribs may be the best in Austin. He makes a great variety of BBQ & cajun dishes and it's safe to say he's very passionate about his food.

Austin Barbecue Company Catering is awesome! I manage a property in Austin and was looking for somebody to do a pig roast for my residents. I was having a terrible time finding somebody who would do a great job at a fair price. I am so glad I found Austin Barbecue Company Catering. David was actually able to help me and my sister property get the pig we needed. When my residents rolled up to our event they were all VERY impressed. The pig he cooked looked AMAZING and tasted even better. Mac and cheese was also a hit. All his sides were. One thing I didn't count on that was a huge plus was David himself. He was extremely friendly, lively, and welcoming. He answered any and all questions asked with a smile. My residents loved him. I would definitely recommend him for any catering needs. Definitely will be using him at our next event.

David catered an open house that we hosted for our business. David was very easy and professional to work with, showed up on time, and most importantly, the food was delicious. He took care of setting up himself, provided tables, utensils, napkins, etc, as well as both iced tea and lemonade. He even smoked up some salmon that one of our employees had caught in Alaska and made a delicious sauce to go with it. And, of course, the BBQ and sides we all excellent. We will certainly use David for any other catering that we need done.

Ok so I see that all the other reviews on here have given David 5 stars. I do have to admit that the food we tried at the tasting was AMAZING! But through e-mailing with David and corresponding before the Wedding I had a very clear idea of the type of food that we wanted. We chose David and Austin BBQ Company because he had the variety. We first choose pork loin, salmon and ribs. I sent this menu (what I thought was our final menu) to David and he responded with a very cordial message suggesting that we also add brisket because people "practically demand it". This really upset me because I felt like he was questioning my choices. So my fiancé (now husband) talked about it and decided that maybe he was right. So we added it and asked for the final per person cost. He gave me a number but then proceeded to tell me that we should also add sausage at no additional cost. This sounds good but we wanted a more classy wedding menu so I politely declined and thought we had everything settled. Then through more correspondence I asked about what he provides for plates silverware etc or if we needed to rent china and silverware. He replied with "We provide what ever you want as long as it is reasonable. But if you're going for a more upscale wedding you should rent the china" What does that even mean??? I decided to rent the china but did not receive a credit for the plate, napkin and silverware cost he would have incurred if we had used his.

So all that aside we met the week of the wedding to go over service details. On this day he also tried to add more food. Saying we definitely need chicken at no additional cost because you have to have poultry. At this point I was more then annoyed and realized that the reason he adds "extra stuff at no additional price" is because that way he doesn't have to make as much of the expensive stuff but can still charge you the same price per head. We stuck with three meats and three sides and he quoted me something different at our meeting then he had said in our e-mails and actually ended up giving me a better deal because I haggled a bit (the week before the wedding I feel like price should have been nailed down). At this meeting I gave him our final guest count of 200 people and also gave him an $1800 deposit. He told me he would arrive on the wedding day at 5pm (the ceremony was at 5) but I was done fighting with him so I didn't.

So wedding day comes around. I had not heard from David all week so I had no idea how much I was supposed to pay him so the morning before when writing checks I just multiplied our cost per head by 200 minus our deposits. Well ceremony comes and goes and David is still setting up!! (On a side note it was supposed to rain that day, so if we had done our ceremony inside due to the weather her would have been setting up during our ceremony) Even after we take our pictures, bustling my dress and our grand entrance HE STILL WAS NOT READY! FInally we get our food...now is when the bad news reallllly comes. The food was all cold!! Also the Salmon we paid so much more for had the entire skeleton left in it. My groom pulled an entire backbone out of his filet!!!!! GROSS! So we did not eat very much and went about our reception....after food service was done David walked up to my groom and told him "Somebody gave me a check for the wrong amount!". Honestly, he should have sent me the correct amount beforehand and should have talked to ANYONEEEE besides the Groom!! When I told him why the check was for the wrong amount he snarkly said "Well I have to pay taxes too!!!" To THE BRIDE!!

Well turns out he had emailed me my final invoice on the morning of the wedding BUT what bride checks her email on the day of the wedding??? Also in this email he stated that he would arrive at 5:30 instead of 5, which had I known I would've had a major issue with.

Anyways, just a warning to other brides: I'm sure he is a wonderful caterer for small events but DO NOT USE HIM FOR A LARGE WEDDING!
